Leading the way amongst all YouTube videos is Luis Fonsi and Daddy Yankee’s most hit song “Despacito”. The Spanish-language track had become the very first video on the platform to achieve 6 billion views. The video was first introduced back in January 2017, and it already secures the record for the fastest 2 billion, 3 billion and 4 billion views of all time. “Despacito,” which translated as “slowly” in English, was also featured in a remix version by one of greatest male pop singer, Justin Bieber.

Ed Sheeran’s No. 1 song “Shape of You,” was first released at the end of January 2017 – just a few weeks after “Despacito”. Today, it is still breaking records by becoming the second most watched music videos on the platform. The song quickly became the most-streamed song on Spotify, the largest music streaming platform in the world. Ed Sheeran is also becoming the only singer with several entries on the last decade’s list of most watched videos on Youtube (2010-2019; based on Gregorian calender), with “Shape of You” and the previous hit “Thinking Out Loud”.

“See You Again,” which was composed as an original track for the blockbuster “Furious 7”, one of the highest-grossing films in history, serves as a tribute to the late movie star Paul Walker who died tragically in November of 2013 in a horrific car crash.
